Diflucan
What is it?
Diflucan is a medication that is used to treat thrush and other fungal and yeast infections.
Inform your provider if:
* You are pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or breastfeeding
* You have had an allergic reaction to this medication or related medications (ketoconazole or miconazole) in the past.
* If you are taking any of the following medications
* Oral medications for diabetes
* Medications for a clotting disorder
* Phenytoin
* Cyclosporine
* Rifampin
* Theophylline
Use:
Take one tablet by mouth. Take this medication immediately for the earliest relief of symptoms. Most patients will begin to have relief from symptoms within 24 hours of taking Diflucan.
Side effects:
Common side effects of this medication include:
* Headache
* Stomach pain
* Vomiting
* Nausea
* Diarrhea
Call the office if you have:
* Severe abdominal pain
* Dark urine
* Redness, blistering, peeling, or loosening of the skin/mucous membranes
* Yellow skin or eyes
* Unusual bleeding or bruising
* Loss of appetite
Things to remember with any medication:
* Keep medications away from children
* Store the medication in a cool, dark, dry environment
* Throw away medicine that is outdated
* Take medicine as prescribed
