Zithromax/Azithromycin
What is it?
Zithromax is an antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections.
Inform your provider if:
* You have ever had an allergic reaction to this medication in the past.
* You have a liver disease.
* If you are taking antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium.
* If you are breastfeeding.
Use:
Take this medication by mouth. If taking the extended release suspension, take the medication on an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal).
Side effects
:
* Diarrhea
* Headache
* Nausea
* Vomiting
* Abdominal pain
* Cramping
Call the office if you have:
* Skin rash
* Trouble breathing
* Swelling of the face, mouth, neck, hands or feet.
Things to remember with any medication:
* Keep medications away from children.
* Store the medication in a cool, dark, dry environment.
* Throw away medicine that is outdated.
* Take medicine as prescribed.
